ABOUT US

Our Mission   -----  Our Vision

Motivational Mentors of America is a youth development agency providing peer-to-peer mentoring programs for elementary, middle and high school youth in the Greater Miami, FL area. The program partners with local school districts, parks and local community outreach programs. Motivational Mentors of America’s mission is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and community service while reasserting a sense of hope in their future by using a youth peer-to-peer mentoring model. Only through personal relationships can a sense of individual responsibility be reestablished that will give youth the commitment to follow through on a path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Through repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk young people have lost faith in the possibilities that await them if they are successful in putting their lives together. To accomplish this goal, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect.

Motivational Mentors of America is a program that is in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school or need that extra push and motivation to achieve goals that they set for themselves. The program’s core philosophy will be based on:

-   Education Development: Musical Mentoring Program, Science Mentoring Program, Testing Preparation, Grade specific Checklist Assessment, Prevention & Intervention Education

-   Occupational Development: Interviews, Resume & Job Assessment & Implementation

-   Post-Graduation Development: Higher Education Skills, Assessment & College/Trade School Tours

-   Community Service: Family and Youth Gatherings, Community Outreach and Resource Services (Home Visits for Program Participants and Mentee/Family Needs Evaluation and Intervention)

Executive Board Message

Motivational Mentors of America mentoring programs will use peer-to-peer mentoring with youth ages 8-17 for 10 week sessions. Motivational Mentors of America will operate for 12 months. The program time frame will be from 12:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. allowing parents or caretakers of children we care for to drop off their child for the duration of the program and to be gainfully employed.

Through repeated failures in the classroom and the development of destructive habits, at-risk young people have lost faith in the possibilities that await them if they are successful in putting their lives together. To accomplish this goal, young people must be in a caring, inclusive learning environment that promotes their best effort and reinforces personal respect.
